My work has paid off – the Young Australian Skeptics has relaunched!

A little under 12 hours ago, the Young Australian Skeptics blog relaunched with a gorgeous new website, new articles, and a new writing team, all under the direction of yours truly, its new head editor! There’s a dedicated podcast page now, which is fantastic, as well as a page about the YAS’s book, which was also sorely needed.  I spent over six feverish months working on recreating the site with my good friends Catherine and Joel, and it’s great to [...]

Officially announced – the relaunch of the Young Australian Skeptics blog!

This is all very exciting – the Young Australian Skeptics blog is being relaunched in late August, with your truly at the helm as Head Editor. With a new writing team, a new design and a new focus, we’re looking to breathe new life into the contributions of young people into the online skeptical movement.

In the near future, this blog will endeavour to fill an important niche in communicating scientific ideas, critical thinking and engagement with social and political issues relating to science, religion and education: [...]

WANTED: Writers who are young, Australian and skeptical for the, er, Young Australian Skeptics!

So, it’s pretty much official: I’ll be taking the reins of the Young Australian Skeptics for the foreseeable future, while founder Elliot Birch concentrates on other projects. Dead Melodies, my new music blog

Yes, I’m a bit of a hipster, unfortunately, and I couldn’t maintain a state of not writing about music for much longer than I did. Hence my new side-blog, Dead Melodies, where I’ll be sharing links to and videos of music-related things. It’s a chance to get inside the right hemisphere of my brain for once, really.

The title refers to a Beck song I’m particularly fond of…

A new blog – Proof of Fallibility

I’ve just noticed that I very rarely directly promote other blogs. Oh well, I’m about to buck the trend a little, and link to a new blog that one of my dear real-world friends has just set up – Proof of Fallibility.

My friend’s Internet name is Schodelaire, and this new blog of hers has absolutely nothing to do with science or skepticism. So why am I telling you about it? Well, she’s an excellent writer, and excellent writers deserve to have their work read. I [...]

New blog header images reflect my propensity for spouting nonsense

As you might have guessed (if you’re not a feed-reader), Homologous Legs now has some new header images, which are on random rotation (which means that the next time you open a page, a new header image will randomly load – I didn’t want to piss people off with the tacky “every few seconds” kind of rotation, which I find just distracts people).

The quotes that form the basis of the images have either been taken from posts on this blog or my Twitter account. Hey, if [...]
