November 22nd, 2011 | Category: miscellaneous My last exam, Biochemical Regulation of Cell Function, finished a bit over an hour ago, at the time I’m writing this. Three months of holidays! Three months. That’s how much holidays I have now: it’s quite a bit, I think you’ll agree. And because I’ve been neglecting the blog a little due to all the studying I’ve been doing, I want to clarify what you should expect to see up here over that period. Exams are over! Hooray! The strange thing is though, I seem to be busier now than I was during the exam period: I’m working on posts about academic freedom, evolutionary biology things and my work at the Bio21 Institute, as well as actually working at Bio21 on Drosophila ananassae, reading a billion books, trying to get my Signature in the Cell review/critique together, watching all the quality television I’ve been missing (Game of Thrones, I’m talking about you), and socialising before [...]

November 10th, 2010 | Category: miscellaneous I’m back! Two exams down (my Chemistry exam finished this morning, and my Biology exam was yesterday) and two more to go. The next one, Australian Flora and Fauna, is in a week, so I have a good enough excuse to get back online.
TAM Australia only a little over two weeks away and, as I’ve previously mentioned, George Hrab is playing a show in Melbourne afterwards. My good friend Catherine whipped up some “I <3 HRAB” badges just for the occasion and mine [...]

June 6th, 2010 | Category: announcement …that I am announcing my withdrawal from the Internet, including Homologous Legs, for the duration of my university exams.
This means that there will be no posts on here, or updates on my Twitter account, from now until the end of next week. Yes, it will be hard for me, but I think I owe my study this much at least.
If you really, really need to contact me for any reason, please email me at jacksca(at)gmail(dot)com
